RFID technology

RFID scanning allows products to be tracked before and after storage for outstanding stock control efficiency and dramatically enhanced safety protocols.

RFID technology has been integrated into Medstor’s Smart Cabinets and Resus and Sepsis Carts, the latest word in effective materials management.

Smart Cabinets

Medstor Smart Cabinets are an innovative, cutting-edge storage solution equipped with RFID technology to enhance inventory management.

The cabinets automate the tracking and management of items stored within them, such as medical supplies, medications, spare parts, or high-value assets, utilising simple UHF (ultra-high frequency) tags that are applied to those items and read by inbuilt antennae.

Not only are Smart Cabinets able to monitor their own inventory and quantity of items in real time, but they can also monitor and alert on additional values such as expiry dates, lot/batch numbers, and serial numbers.

Smart access via an NFC staff badge/access card can be set up, recording who has taken what and every time the door is opened and closed, providing accurate auditing and traceability options.

Live dashboards on a PC provide remote stock checks and alerts for every Smart Cabinet across an entire organisation.

RFID Resus and Sepsis Carts

RFID-enabled Resus and Sepsis Carts combine Medstor’s design excellence and healthcare expertise with RFID technology for a 21st century solution to stock management, empowering medical professionals with the tools they need to respond rapidly and effectively in an emergency.

The Resus Cart features five clearly labelled drawers, each containing the corresponding equipment and supplies:

1. Airway

2. Breathing

3. Cardiac

4. Circulation

5. IV Fluids

The Sepsis Cart has six labelled drawers that contain the tools and supplies for the vital 'Sepsis

Six' tasks set out by the UK Sepsis Trust:

1. Oxygen

2. Blood cultures

3. Intravenous antibiotics

4. Intravenous fluids

5. Haemoglobin and lactates

6. Urine measurement

A wide variety of accessories is available to personalise each cart.

High quality construction guarantees outstanding durability and performance, with strong castors providing easy manoeuvrability in even the busiest space. Carts are suitable for cleaning with a range of disinfectants for effective infection control.

Medstor ‘R’ care IT carts

The Medstor ‘R’ care IT cart is easy to manoeuvre and deploy. Custom-designed for healthcare

use, it is supplied with a 2-year warranty (can be extended to 5-year).

Proximity locking

Transponder technology for cabinets and carts provides easily programmable keyless access for secured cabinets with controlled and managed access and a full audit trail.
